Catherine Quinn – Psychologist
I am a psychologist who has had the privilege to work in a juvenile detention centre, acute adolescent unit, child and adolescent community health service, and an adult mental health hospital with those suffering with depression, anxiety, behavioural and substance use problems. I am passionate about helping people face and deal with the challenges that they may encounter; strengthening their skills and teaching them strategies to cope with a wide range of emotional and relationship issues.
I consider it extremely important to work with children, adolescents and their parents, as well as adults, in a way that draws upon their strengths, and possible support people that may be available to them. I use an individually tailored approach drawing upon my training and experience in a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), brief interventions, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
