Vinay Joy is a dedicated and values-driven Support Coordinator and Specialist Support Coordinator with nearly five years of experience in the disability sector. His passion for empowering individuals with disability was sparked during his Master of Social Work studies at Queensland University of Technology, where he developed a strong understanding of the importance of person-centred and rights-based support.

Vinay has supported adults across a broad spectrum of needs—including those with physical, psychosocial, and intellectual disabilities, as well as neurodivergent individuals and participants with complex mental health. He has held roles with reputable organisations such as Peace Lutheran Church – Anuha, Mercy Community Services, and Huntingtons Australia.

Vinay brings a trauma-informed, person-led approach to his practice, grounded in collaboration, trust, and dignity. He is highly experienced in working with guardianship systems, the Public Trustee, and multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure coordinated, culturally aware, and responsive supports. His goal is to walk alongside participants as they work toward their goals, build capacity, and gain greater independence.

Vinay holds a Master of Social Work from Queensland University of Technology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Symbiosis University. His areas of practice include psychosocial disability and complex mental health, guardianship and Public Trust matters, crisis management, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement. He is passionate about delivering tailored, strengths-based support that fosters long-term independence and improved quality of life for the people he works with.

Fun Fact about yourself: Outside of work, Vinay enjoys movies and regularly plays badminton to unwind and stay active.
